TL;DR Ueno is looking for someone to help with our finances.
But lets start at the beginning.
Ueno makes things, mostly digital things. That includes brands and digital products and marketing and you know, things. We’ve worked with a lot of great clients, including Google, Apple, Dropbox, Verizon, Reuters, ESPN, Chubb, Visa, Lonely Planet, Airbnb, Samsung, Red Bull, Facebook etc (impressive, right!). You can learn more here on our site.
We started about 3+ years ago and we’ve grown from 1 to 50 people over that time. We have offices in Reykjavik, NYC, SF and a brand new one person office in LA. We are planning on continued growth over the next few years, most likely within and outside the US.
We are independently owned (by our founder) and we plan to keep it like that.
So, that’s us in a nutshell.
Now, what we need is someone to come in to help us run our finances. Currently this is being done by a few different people but nobody really owns it and therefor nobody really oversees it as well as we should. That’s where you come in.
You are someone that knows all the numbers, you understand taxes, you know how to budget and structure cash flow, you have experience running finance for a company with income and employees in multiple countries, you are comfortable with all this stuff and more. It would be great if you had some agency experience but that’s not a requirement.
You are also nice, you are open minded, you are friendly and approachable and good to work with. You understand that in a small company, people wear different hats and sometimes things just need to be done and you are happy to pitch in even though it’s not in your job description. You are quick to adapt, quick to learn and can think on your feet.
You are our new finance person. Maybe that means CFO? We don’t honestly know what the title should be because we’ve never done this before.
This position needs someone that has a valid work visa and it’s located in New York City or San Francisco.
Our bright and bustling office in Soma is a hotbed of creativity. We’re just down the street from Twitter, who for some reason still hasn’t asked us to work for them. What’s up with that?
No need to be formal. Just send us your links and we’ll be in touch.
